ARTISTIC DIRECTOR Ellen Schipper, who was born in Indonesia and received her initial ballet training in Amsterdam, is the training school artistic director at West Coast Ballet, a non-profit ballet company in Santa Barbara, CA, for pre-professional students with professional guest artists. The students and performers have continued to dance for Jose Matteo Ballet Theatre in Boston, San Francisco Ballet, Utah Ballet , Lido de Paris in France. Students, while in training, also studied on scholarship in Boston, New York, Milwaukee, Houston, and San Francisco.
